Regé-Jean Pageis addressing whether he’d be open to trading his role as a duke to become the next 007.

On Friday, theBridgertonstar appeared onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonduring which he addressed therumorsthat the new Netflix heartthrob could be the frontrunner to be the next James Bond.

According to British betting firm Ladbrokes, Page is now 5/1 in the betting to replaceDaniel Craig.

“I think the internet thinks a lot of things, and that’s one of the more pleasant ones,” Page said with a smile. “So I can please as far as that goes.”

The actor, 30, went on to note that it seems to be common for popular British actors to be floated for the secret agent role.

“I think there might be an element of cultural translation to be done here. Like if you’re a Brit, and you do something of any kind of renowned that people regard well, then people start saying the ‘B’ word,” he shared, seemingly referring to the word “Bond.”

“It’s like a merit badge, like the ‘B’ word merit badge,” he continued.

“I’m very, very glad to have the badge. I’m glad to be in such wonderful company of people who have the badge. But it’s a badge,” he told Fallon.

Page, who stars as Simon Basset, the brooding Duke of Hastings, in Netflix’s new eight-part period pieceBridgerton, also spoke to Fallon about how people have been reacting to the series.

While fans have raved over Page’s portrayal as the sexy and scandalous duke, the actor said his family has to provide “warnings” for one another when it comes to his explicit scenes.

“I mean, to be fair at this point you can’t really faze my family. If you come up through theater, like they see stuff and they kind of don’t even blink anymore. But there are warnings,” he admitted.

Page explained that his family uses a group chat to alert each other about his more steamy episodes.

“Like the family WhatsApp has like, red, flashing lights. It’s like ‘Ep 5: beep, beep, beep, ‘” he said, mimicking an alarm sound.

However, Page said sometimes the warnings “don’t tend to reach everyone.”

“We missed one of my cousins and she sent me a message just like, ‘I had to make so many tactical cups of tea during the show and then I come back and you were still going. So I have to go back and put the kettle back on,'” he shared as Fallon burst into laughter.
