One couple’s engagement photoshoot became a source of laughter for their nieces — and the internet.
Breona Carter, 22, posted aTikTok videoof her nieces hilariously re-creating poses from the behind-the-scenes footage of her and her fiancé’s engagement photoshoot. Little did she know that it would become a viral hit with over 1 million views on the platform.
The video opens up with the words, “POV: Your nieces think your bts of your engagement shoot is corny and mock you," as Carter and her fiancé, Nehemy Manigat, are seen grabbing each other’s hands. The video then cuts to Carter’s nieces, A’rya Williams, 11, and Aaliyah Williams, 9, pulling off the same move in their kitchen with huge grins on their faces.
The pre-teens toldTodaythat the engagement videos were too funny not to make fun of — especially because of their location. “They’re at a train station. They’re in the streets,” said Aaliyah, as A’rya chimed in, “Yeah, I didn’t get why they were in the middle of the street.”
Carter told TODAY that she had “completely forgot” that she had recorded her nieces “until a month later,” and decided to edit a fun mashup of the videos together. She captioned the video, “this shouldn’t have been as funny as it is 🤣🤣🤣.”

“I was like, I’m just gonna put this together, and I didn’t think it was gonna do anything,” she explained. “Really, I was just like, it’s a funny video, and I guess everybody else thought it was funny.”
When she showed it to her nieces after posting the video they had a similar reaction.
“They were just laughing so hard,” she shared. “They’re like, ‘Oh my God, why are you posing like that?’ And then they were like, ‘Obviously, we’re going to show you what you guys look like.’ "
However, Carter said she had no regrets about the engagement photoshoot — which she said holds significance because it represents how she and Manigat met online — nor the video, no matter how “cheesy and corny” her nieces said it was.
Carter explained, “I wanted to be able to look back and genuinely be happy and like really say that we fully took in everything and documented every moment."
