This bride is honoring her mother!

While some ladies can’t wait to take part in wedding traditions, like tossing the bouquet, Briana Keith didn’t mind tossing that custom out of the window so she could appreciate her mother on her wedding day.

“During the entire wedding, there’s nothing for mom,” Keith said in her wedding speech video shared on TikTok as her mother began to get emotional while listening.

The bride went on to explain how weddings have the traditions for fathers walking the daughters down the aisle, as well as mothers of the grooms having their first dances, before pointing out again that there were no wedding traditions for mothers of the brides.

“Mothers dedicate their life, body and soul to their kids,” Keith added in her speech. “So to all the single ladies out there I am sorry but I will not be doing a bouquet toss, instead I am dedicating my bouquet to my beautiful mother.”

“I knew my mom wouldn’t want to do a first dance, a speech, or take away from my dad walking my down the aisle,” Keith tells PEOPLE. “So doing this just felt right.”

“I always felt like the mother of the bride kind of gets pushed to the side on the wedding day after all the work’s done and I just thought, I didn’t want to do that,” she adds. “My mother deserved more than that and to be highlighted too.”

The bride’s father was also present at the wedding, walking her down the aisle and delivering a speech. Furthermore, despite the ladies not getting a bouquet, Keith doesn’t “think any of the single women had a complaint.”

She also reveals that she and her husband didn’t eat with their wedding guests, or have a sweetheart or head table. “Instead, he and I had a private dinner in the groom’s suite and I recommend it to anyone who’s about to get married.”

“During the wedding, you don’t really get a minute alone with your new spouse to take everything in and say, ‘Holy crap we just got married’, ” she says. “Doing this ensured we were 1 able to eat our meal in peace, and 2, get to soak up that moment together.”
