A woman stepped in to help an animal in need — at her wedding of all places.
“I kind of forgot it was my wedding,” Dhaliwal told the animal publication. “[I] went straight into wildlife rescue mode!”
Dhaliwal, who was still in her wedding dress, went to the tree where the possum was located with supplies at the ready — which she just so happened to have with her at the time.

“I used some marsupial pouches I had in my wildlife kit to gently restrain and catch the possum … with help from [a] fellow volunteer, Anne, as well as my new husband, Gavin,” she told the publication.
“I knew she was going to be alright,” Dhaliwal said. “[We] could relax!”

The whole incident happened without a major interruption to the wedding and they were able to return to their wedding party right after. Many of the couple’s family and friends even praised Dhaliwal for stepping in.
“Many said it was a very PJ thing to do,” Dhaliwal recalled to The Dodo.
“My husband’s family loves hearing all my crazy stories about different rescues, and they were all just so delighted to see me in action!," she added.
