A bride wants to show off her natural beauty.

The bride-to-be shared that she does not want to wear makeup on her wedding day in a post onReddit’s"Wedding Planning" forum. However, her loved ones are not supportive of her decision and are trying to convince her otherwise.

The woman said she does not wear makeup in her “daily life, not even on dates.” She added that she previously had her makeup done at her future sister-in-law’s wedding when she was a teenager.

“I admit I looked pretty, but it didn’t really look like me and it made me feel uncomfortable,” the bride wrote.

Now, the woman said that she is “feeling pressured into wearing make up as a bride.” In fact, she claimed that “everyone keeps reminding me I’m not the prettiest girl around” and are suggesting that she wears “some” makeup on her big day.

“My boyfriend’s aunt is a makeup artist and would do that for free,” she wrote, “so I don’t have the money excuse.”

The disgruntled bride continued to ask others who opted to not wear makeup on their big day about their experience, specifically wondering, “Did you regret it?”

Another wrote that one of her bridesmaids decided to forgo makeup at her ceremony and it was not a problem in the slightest. “She didn’t wear any when she got married and she won’t wear any at mine. She hates stuff on her face, and I’m just happy to have her there,” the commenter said.

A third shared a similar experience of her friend who “hates makeup” and “didn’t wear any for her wedding.” The person wrote, “She was beautiful, and best of all, she was comfortable and felt like herself. There are no rules! Grooms almost never wear makeup and no one frets about their skin. Do what feels best for your day.”

One person asked the bride if she was open to doing a trial run to see what she could look like with makeup on her big day, but added that there should be no pressure. “Can your aunt do a makeup trial doing a very natural look? This would only enhance your natural beauty and not make you look like somebody else entirely,” they wrote. “If not, or you just don’t want to, then don’t.”

The commenter also noted that others have brought up the potential of harsh lighting on her wedding day and how it could affect her photos. “Will your wedding be during daylight hours and photography will be outside? Or inside with whatever types of light available?” the person asked. “Just something to think about, but ultimately it’s up to you. You’ll be beautiful no matter what.”
