But, he made sure that his wife-to-be had the picture-perfect manicure to go with her new Neil Lane sparkler.
“I had absolutely no clue. Let me tell you, this man begged me to get my nails done today,” Mandrell tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“She would not get her nails done,” Bowers adds.

With enough convincing, Mandrell decided to deck out her nails in a vibrant red shade with a pop of silver on her ring finger. The two even hit the ceremony wearing matching forest green looks — and even still, she didn’t “suspect a thing.”
“Oh my gosh, you pulled that off,” Mandrell tells Bowers of the grand proposal.

Bowers and Mandrell met during the Season 9 finale ofBachelor in Paradisein 2023, and from that moment his love for her was undeniable (and so was theircommon love for Tenacious D.)
“From the experiences we both had, like, we both came into this show just wanting love,” says Bowers. “We both had hard, challenging roads in different ways, and we were both, I feel like, misunderstood. And it’s like two misunderstood people that understand each other.”

He initially had the idea to put the ring on a slice of pineapple pizza after the two spoke about wanting to make pineapple pizza in Italy.
However, after talking to the show’s producers, they collectively came up with the idea of Bowers proposing on the televised special, which sawThe Golden BachelorstarsGerry TurnerandTheresa Nisttie the knot.

The fiancées have another milestone coming up. They will be moving in together along with Mandrell’s 7-year-old daughter, Blakely.
From here on out, the pair are just happy to spend “every day” with each other. “We feel so grateful for every moment,” says Mandrell.
