There’s a very specific look that makesBrandon Flynnfeel his best self.
PEOPLE caught up with the actor at the Swarovski x SKIMS collection launch event at Swarovski’s flagship Fifth Avenue store in N.Y.C., and he wasn’t shy when it came to talking about his style.
“Speedos,” he reveals after taking a moment to think.
At Tuesday’s event, though, the13 Reasons Whystar, 30, was dressed in none of his choice outfits, and instead wore a dark suit jacket and trousers as he walked the carpet. He added an element of sparkle to the look with a sheer, shimmery top under his unbuttoned suit jacket, as well as two Swarovski chains around his neck.
Flynn finished the look with two bedazzled Swarovski stars on the lapel of his suit jacket, jokingly describing the event as “star-studded” in a quick-witted pun.
“This look is some Swarovski, some Versace,” he adds.

Flynn first gained fame for his breakout role as Justin Foley in Netflix’s hit series13 Reasons Why. He starred as the antagonist turned fan-favorite character on the show from 2017 until its conclusion in 2020.
Since then, he’s been outspoken about his support for the LGBTQ community and often used his platform for advocacy.
In 2021, he partnered with queer-owned fragrance brand Boy Smells for a Pride month collaboration, and opened up to PEOPLE abouthis own queer identity.
“I’m a big believer that my pride and my queerness carries me through every day, 24/7, all year,” he said. “It’s something I try to work on and it’s something I try to continue to learn about.”
Flynn also reflected on the battles yet to come for the community, which he considers himself a part of.
“[When] you look at where we’ve been as a society and you look at the politics of where we still are, I respect the hell out of everyone who can be that brave, because it still is brave,” he shared. “It still is radical to live in your truth today, especially when you don’t fit the mold of a heterosexual cisgendered white person.”

The actress, 31, told PEOPLE of her all-pink look: “I feel so powerful having something that’s fitted, this amazing Madonna-esque construction. And I feel like I’m just reflecting light in a way that does make me feel really powerful.”
She added of the decision to go monochrome, “My kitchen is pink, I’m just a pink girl."
