Brad Pittis revved up and ready to go inF1.
Apple Original Films debuted a new full trailer for the movie on Thursday, March 13, featuring the Oscar winner driving up to 180 mph on a real Formula 1 track.
Pitt, 60, stars as a driver named Sonny Hayes who raced in the 1990s but retired after a horrible crash. A Formula 1 team owner and friend, Ruben (Javier Bardem), reaches out to Hayes and asks him to mentor a rookie driver, Joshua “Noah” Pearce (Damson Idris).
The cast also includesKerry Condon,Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles,Kim Bodniaand Samson Kayo.
In the latest trailer, a montage of racing footage plays as Ruben explains how Hayes’ reputation has gone downhill — but there’s still a chance he can come back on top.
“Some people look at Sonny Hayes. They see a guy who lives in a van. A gambling junkie who missed his shot. The best that never was,” Ruben says in the trailer. “But I see possibility.”

As Hayes and Pearce team up, there’s tension as well as admiration between the veteran driver and novice as they begin training for F1, the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars.
“When’s the last time you won a race,” Pearce asks Hayes in the trailer, to which the F1 retiree says he just won the Daytona 500. When Pearce smirks and says he meant an F1 race, Hayes smirks back and says “I’m sorry, then same as you.”

Along with epic racing footage, including a fiery crash, Pitt’s tattooed racer also has a steamy moment with Kerry Condon’s Kate, who plays a technical director on the rag-tag team and oversees the design and development of race cars.

Kosinski confirmed that both Pitt and Idris drove on an actualF1 track while filming, which happened after “months of training” with the help of seven-time Formula 1 championLewis Hamilton, who produced the movie under his company Dawn Apollo Films.
“Brad had a lot of natural ability,” Kosinski said of the actor, who got up to 180 mph speeds while filming.
The director said filming the movie was a race itself, as they were given short increments of time between actual races on the F1 track.
“It was a very unique way of working. Rather than having a whole day to shoot a scene like you normally would on a movie, we had these 9- or 10-minute slots. It was like a live stage play but in front of hundreds of thousands of people, shooting at 180 miles an hour,” Kosinski said. “It was an adrenaline rush every weekend. But you know what we captured, you can’t fake.”
Kosinski said while most of his work is behind-the-scenes, he was able to enjoy a bit of racing along with Pitt and Hamilton.
“The first day was really fun. It was me, Brad and Lewis Hamilton,” Kosinski remembered. “All of us jumping in cars and driving each other around in sports cars, which was one of those one of those things I’ll never forget, you know, having Lewis Hamilton as your driving instructor.”
F1is in theaters and IMAX June 27.
