Elle Fanning’s birthday celebrations are just getting started!
TheMaleficentactress turned 21 on Tuesday and celebrated with a glass of champagne, which she documented in a series of photos she shared on Instagram.
“Look who is legal! 🥂 The celebrations have just begun#21,” she wrote in the caption referring to the fact that she can now legally drink alcohol.
Fanning also shared a photo of herself enjoying lunch with her older sisterDakota, 25, and friends on her Instagram Stories.
For her part, Dakota celebrated her sister’s birthday with a sweet tribute on her Instagram account in which she shared a photo of herself zipping up Elle’s dress.
She continued, “As we know, I had a sister, and my life got better in that instant. I will always be there to zip up your dress (and maybe hold your hair back tonight 😉 just kidding!!) and help you in every way I can. I LOVE YOU!”
Elle commented on her sister’s post, writing, “I LOVE YOU! 🥂❤️❤️❤️❤️ so excited to party with you tonight!!!!! Sisters hitting the town right!”

The two sisters are exceptionally close, frequently supporting each other at their respective premieres and red carpets. Dakota stepped out earlier this month at thepremiere of Elle’sTeen Spiritwhere the two posed together for photographs.

Elle will reprise her role as Aurora in the upcomingMaleficent: Mistress of EvilalongsideAngelina Jolie. She is also starring in filmTeen Spiritin which she portrays a shy teenager who sets out to win a local singing competition as a way out of her small town.
“I wasn’t on anybody’s radar about getting this part [inTeen Spirit],” she said. “I’m always looking for movies where I’d be able to sing, because people don’t really know that I can. But I always loved singing growing up. It was either, be a pop star or an actress.”
