Human remains have once again been foundin Austin’s Lady Bird Lake.
Members of theAustin Police Departmentresponded to the 300 block of West Cesar Chavez Street around 1:30 p.m. local time after receiving an 911 call for an urgent welfare check, Officer Ariel Crumes said at a news conference.
The 911 caller said he thought he found a dead body on the north side of the Texas lake, Crumes explained.
It is currently unclear how long the body was in the water or if the deceased individual had any injuries.
Police have not released any identifying information about the individual found in the water although a death investigation has been opened.
“This is very early on in this investigation and it is still a very active scene,” Crumes noted during the news conference.
The APD tells PEOPLE there is no new information at this time.

Lady Bird Lake is the same body of water wherefour bodies were foundwithin two months of each other in early 2023.
The body of 30-year-old Jason John was found in the lake on Feb. 13, 2023, after he disappeared while out on the town with friends over a week earlier.
A second body was found that March, and a third, which belonged to 33-year-old Jonathan Honey, was found in the lake on April 1. The APD previously said John and Honey disappeared from the same area of Rainey Street.
The fourth body was found on April 15. At the time, police said foul play did not appear to be a factor in any of the deaths.
Officer Michael Bullock also noted the public’s concerns in a press conference last year, but said they’d observed “nothing criminal” in connection with the deaths, according to theAustin American-Statesman.
A fifth body was discovered in June, according to theSan Antonio Express-News.
Last year, city officials voted to invest about $1 million into safety improvements around the Rainey Street District, according toFOX affiliate KTBC.
