Gone, but never forgotten.

In a touching post dedicated to the memory ofBodeandMorgan Miller’s 19-month-olddaughter Emeline, whodrownedin a pool last June, the couple’s midwife, Lindsey Meehleis, reflected on the eulogy she gave at thetoddler’s funerallast year.

“We are two short months away from almost a year of the loss of our dear Emmy. Everyday still feels like a dream,” she wrote on Instagram Friday, advising every parent to be mindful ofwater safety.

“We must all make a commitment together to do better for our children and get them watersafe. The AAP recently changed their water safety guidelines and they need to be shouted from the rooftops. I never want to stand up with my knees trembling looking my dear friends in the eyes as I give a eulogy for their daughter,” she added. “These are some of the words that I spoke this tragic day. @morganebeck& @millerbode I love you guys so much.”

Along with her important message, Meehleis shared a photograph of herself from the infant’s funeral.

Shortly after Emeline’s delivery, the couple’s midwife “jotted down” a few words about how special the newborn was.

“On the morning you were born, all wisdom from past generations was instilled upon you & your wisdom on future generations will go forth. The world is forever changed because of the one and only you,” Meehleis shared.

“Retrospectively these words couldn’t be more true. While her time here was short, her fierce energy has forever changed the world. She came forth….sacrificing her own life in order to save the lives of many others. Her wisdom will go forward with future generations ….. but I would like us to commit to her current generation now,” she added, urging everybody to hold hands and create “a web of embrace for the Miller family.”

Meehleis added, “Each person…. sitting here in this room…..is the glue of the strong community that not only supports the Miller’s but each and everyone of you will also carry on the spirit of Emmy and the mission of her life.”

Sharing her appreciation for her friend’s kind words, Morgan commented on the post, writing, “I love you.”
