Aframian claims he suffered injuries that required medical attention, and he is now hoping to receive money to cover the costs and for the “injuries, pain, suffering and mental and emotional anguish” he experienced as a result of the alleged attack. An agent representing the NBA player did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
The complaint also claims that Griffin, 29, knew his dog had a tendency to act out in violence.
“Defendants did nothing to supervise, leash or restrain their dog despite their knowledge that the dog had prior attacks and acted in an aggressive and threatening manner,” the complaint continues.
The complaint goes on to say Griffin had a “conscious and reckless disregard” to the possibility that his pet might cause severe harm, especially since the dog was not “restrained” or “leashed” in a fashion that could keep it from attacking anyone else.
Aside from Griffin, Aframian is also suing the restaurant for not protecting its patrons.
Griffin has posted pictures showing a pet dog to social media in the past, withthe most recent beingfrom July 2014. It is not known if this is the pet mentioned in the lawsuit.
Cameron claimed that she and Griffin had planned to marry in July 2017, but she was presented with a prenuptial agreement a month before the ceremony. When they postponed the wedding, Cameron alleged in the suit that Griffin “immediately embarked on a high-profile affair with Jenner.”
Griffin — who is in the second year of a five-year$171 million contract— began his career with the Los Angeles Clippers and played for the franchise for nearly nine years before being traded to the Detroit Pistons in January 2018. The team is currently eighth in the NBA’s eastern conference with a 26-29 record.
