After“What Was I Made For?”singerBillie Eilishsang the lyrics, “I don’t know how to feel,” onstage at the2024 Oscarson Sunday, the audience surely knew how to feel after the moving performance.
The crowd immediately gave the 22-year-old singer, her brotherFinneasand the live orchestra a standing ovation after they performed the popularBarbietrack, whichwon Best Original Songlater in the ceremony.
The performance moved people to tears, includingBarbiecast membersAmerica FerreraandKate McKinnon,BarbiedirectorGreta Gerwig, as well asWickedstarAriana Grandeand other celebrities in the audience.
Ahead of the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, Eilish won multiple awards at the Grammys in February — song of the year and best song written for visual media, both for theBarbiesong.
Eilish and Finneas, 26, previously won Best Original Song at the2022 Oscars for “No Time to Die”from the James Bond film,No Time to Die.
The pair ended up beating the other Best Original Song nominees on Sunday.
